Amazon Rainforest 2023

A short photo-essay on the daily life and the consequences of urbanization in the Colombian Amazon, where indigenous population, over time and even today, must face a restless compromise between modernity and tradition. Despite the imported demands, often imposed by force—whether military, cultural, or economic—by a foreign world, the indigenous populations here remain protective of their uniqueness, which clashes with the dictates of survival. As a result, they are now open (willingly in which extent?) to mass tourism and the exploitation of their land. It’d consist in a long visual journey that would require in-depth on-site research. The question is: what is indigenous today?
